Saturday, 28th March 2015.
It was a great weather that morning. Me and my colleague, Hussin decided to go for a short ride to Balingian town via a new route. A route we heard for some time, but never had the opportunity to explore.
Myself riding a supermoto, a converted 2013 Honda CRF250L, while Hussin riding a Kawasaki Versys 650.
We departed from PETRONAS Service Station (PSS) Kemena at about 1000 hours. We reached PSS Tatau at about 1045 hours. I filled up full tank. PSS Tatau will be the nearest proper Petrol Station to and fro. There is one petrol station in Balingian....errrr.....perhaps I just fill up here.
Bintulu - Tatau 55 km.
We proceed further towards Sibu. Supposedly we could find the junction to Balingian after about 25 km from Tatau, but we missed. There are so many junction look a like. After go and back more than half an hour, and asked people nearby, finally we found the junction.
Tatau - Balingian Junction 25 km (approximately).
The road looks really wide, but unpaved.
My steed ready for some action.
We had some off road riding, 2.5 km only, nuts for me, but a bit tough for my Versys colleague....he he he.....sorry Hussin for leaving you in the dirt and dust, my adrenalin suddenly pumped up.
Suddenly the crusher run getting bigger. Luckily very short distance.
There he comes, the Off Road Versys 650.
The rest of the road are bitumen. Looks new but a lot of potholes. The first 10 km from the main road was windy, many sharp corners and hill. I bet it will be a bikers heaven if it is turfed nicely.
We reached Balingian town at about 1200 hours. We had many pit stops for photo taking. Just for record.
Ok, Bintulu - Balingian is less than 120 km. We proved that.

The Balingian River looks murky. There are lots of Giant Fresh Water Prawn here......and perhaps Crocodilus porossus too!
The town is quiet. Not many vehicle around. Located beside Balingian River. The river quite busy with tug boats pulling timber barge.
See that? That is the Petrol Station.
The only colourful Signboard in Balingian.
Nasi Goreng Udang.
Masjid Darul Taqwa, Balingian. Stopped here for a while to perform solat.
This is the main reason we came to Balingian. To recce a safe and shorter route to Pusat Tusyen Percuma Balingian which is solely run by a housewife, Puan Nur Asy Syura Matil.
Our MLNG SSRC Bikers Club Convernor, Mr M Hussin Zaini getting some precious information from Puan Nur Asy Syura.
Until we meet again. Insya Allah, we will come back.
When the Kuala Tatau Bridge completed, I believed this road will be used by eager fellow bikers from Kuching - Kota Kinabalu, vice versa. For time being, Balingian will be quiet as it is.
Last pose, photo taken at Kuala Balingian.
